DESCRIPTION: France, mysterious striking novelty, the clock in a drum suspended from two parallel chains, held aloft by the right arm of a spelter female, and the clock swinging from side to side as it runs, c1880
CONDITION: patination / paint on the statue is worn to metal in many places. and oxidation on some of those places; turned wooden base with some losses to lacquer. the clock movement appears complete and sound, although we could not get it to keep running. Roman numerals on the silvered dial are mostly worn away, engraved dial center intact. An unusual item. Ht 31"
